Jackie O'Dowd - Pre-school manager

Welcome to Small Wonders Pre-school. I have worked in early years for over 30 years and enjoyed the various roles I've undertaken in that time, including that of a keyworker, supervisor and now a manager. I never tire of the fun children bring and seeing them grow and develop new skills in readiness for school. I love nothing more than joining the team in delivering exciting, fun activities and spending some time away from the office. However, I love my role in managing the pre-school, supporting the staff and ensuring that our ethos of the children come first underpins our decisions and planning.

 I am very pleased and proud of our continued good ofsted rating, despite the rising standards to achieve a good rating we have maintained this high standard since 2002. In July 2018 we achieved good with outstanding elements in personal development, behaviour and welfare which is a fantastic area to have as outstanding, as many parents tell me on registration that they want to send their child to pre-school to develop their social skills. Parents can be confident that children are developing these skills in an environment with high expectations of behaviour and in a setting with outstanding regard to welfare.
